Introduction
The Dalongdong Scenic Area includes two parts - Dalongdong Reservoir (also known as Dalong Lake) and Dalongdong, known as the "Lower Li River" of China. This is one of the few natural reservoirs in China that does not require a dam, relying on the underground water accumulated by stone walls. It is also one of the top ten lava reservoirs in China. There are 7 springs in the lake, of which the largest one is near Shangling Village. During the peak season, the spring water can splash to over 1 meter high. The lake also has 14 natural islands scattered around, and the emerald green water surface is complemented by the surrounding mountains, creating a charming scenery. During the boat trip, tourists can also enjoy several caves, among which the most famous one is Dalong Cave. Particularly, there are three natural skylights on the top of the cave, with water and cave beneath them-and visitors can even see the sky through them, which is truly amazing. While cruising on Dalong Lake, visitors can enjoy beautiful scenes like White Dragon Soaring into the Sky, Sleeping Beauty Mountain, Carp Mountain, and Penguin Mountain. Here, one can appreciate the elegance and beauty of Guilin's Li River and the majesty and grandiosity of Vietnam's Halong Bay. Even on a cloudy day, visitors can still enjoy the misty water and undulating mountains, creating a picturesque scene.
