Recently, a movie called "The Battle at Zhennan Pass" has been highly anticipated. Many textbooks describe Zhennan Pass as follows: "In the Sino-French War, the Chinese army fought bravely and won a great victory at Zhennan Pass, recapturing Liangshan. However, amidst the sound of victory, the weak and appeasing Qing government 'took advantage of the situation and accepted defeat', and intensified negotiations with the French aggressors. Ultimately, they signed the humiliating 'Treaty of Tientsin', causing 'China to suffer defeat despite being unbeatable, and France to win despite being inferior'".
