Introduction

The Qi Baishi Memorial Hall, located on the shores of Baima Lake in Xiangtan, Hunan, covers an area of about 2100 square meters and was built to commemorate the Chinese painting master Qi Baishi. It was built in 1984 and took 9 years to complete, opening in May 1993. The memorial hall is built on the lakeside and cleverly integrates with the scenery, adding to the beauty of the surroundings. The building complex features a typical style of Hunan folk houses, with exquisite and elegant designs and a peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Flowing water over small bridges and shade from the pavilions make the entire memorial hall full of dynamic energy. The eaves and walls, courtyards and gardens, water embracing the woods, and shrimp playing with algae all show the unique creativity of the ornamental designs. The bamboo shadows, breezes, and moonlit windows further enrich the characteristics of this memorial hall.
