Introduction

Peng Dehuai's former residence is located under the Shifeng in Wushi village, Wushi town, Xiangtan county, Hunan province, built in 1925. It is a typical Jiangnan style farmhouse, with brick and wood structure, pink walls and blue tiles. The former residence has always been inhabited by Peng Dehuai's younger brothers, Jinhua and Ronghua, and is also known as "Sanhua Tang". In 1958 and 1961, Peng Dehuai returned to his hometown twice, staying here for 34 days in 1961. He received over 2000 cadres and masses and wrote five rural investigation materials here for the reference of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC.
