Introduction

Located in the center of Xiangtan city, near the Xiangjiang Bridge, Yuhu Park is a beautiful park surrounded by a lake. From the bridge, you can see the lake water encircled by willows, with birds singing and flowers blooming, making for a charming scenery. There are many willow trees in the park, especially the smoke willows in early spring and the beautiful scenery in midsummer. Yuhu is one of the most famous scenic spots in Xiangtan city, and many poets have composed poems here, including the famous line "Willows hang over the lonely tower, evening colors half the bridge" Nowadays, there are many pavilions, gardens and children's playgrounds in the park, with two bridges called Seven Stars and Eight Immortals. Tourists can also take a boat ride on the lake to enjoy the tranquil waterscape. In addition, the park has also restored many original landscapes. One of the famous scenic spots is "Shuangbi Archway", which originates from a story about two women who suffered an accident while passing through Yuhu during the Qing Dynasty in the reign of Emperor Jiaqing. In order to commemorate them, locals erected an archway at the side of the lake, making it a cultural heritage site.
