Introduction

The sky burial platform located in Seda is built on a gentle slope and surrounded by iron railings, creating a flat ground similar to a basketball court, which is the venue for the sky burial ceremony. Sky burial is a Tibetan funeral practice that involves feeding a deceased person's body to vultures, which then fly into the sky. Tibetans believe that this allows the deceased person's soul to ascend to heaven. The sky burial master follows a specific procedure to remove the deceased's clothing, cut the body into pieces, and separate the flesh and bones. Finally, they will call the vultures in a certain order to eat, in order to achieve the goal of using the body.
