Introduction

The Ming Tombs of Ancestors is located in Guanzhen Township, Xuyi County, Jiangsu Province, about 20 kilometers away from Xuyi County. The Ming Tombs of Ancestors is the tomb of Zhu Yuanzhang, the ancestor of the Ming Dynasty, including the tombs of his great-grandfather, grandfather and great-grandfather. In order to honor his ancestors, Zhu Yuanzhang spared no expense to build this tomb. In 1963, the water level of the Hongze Lake dropped, and the site of the Ming Tombs gradually emerged from the water, including multiple tombs and 20 pairs of stone elephants. After restoration, a large dike has been built around the tomb, with more than 60,000 trees planted and facilities such as a cultural relics exhibition room and pumping station. Visitors can now reach the site by car or on foot.
