Introduction
Lotus Hill, the main peak, rises to 1337.3 meters, making it the highest peak in the eastern coastal regions of Guangdong. It is named after its shape resembling an open lotus. The southern slope of the mountain is undulating and covered with green trees, forming the unique scenery known as "Lotus Peak layers of greenery." The scenic area has 18 waterfalls, including the Double Dragon Waterfall and Echoing Waterfall, as well as hot springs and natural landscapes such as Zhaogong, Puzai, Big and Small Dongmen, Tianchi, and Rulai Pan Shi. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, seven ancient temples were built in the mountains by eminent monks, such as Jiming Temple, Yunlian Temple, and Jinzhu Temple, reaching the pinnacle of religious culture and earning the nickname "Lotus Buddhist Kingdom." It is worth mentioning that in history, some celebrities also lived or passed through here, such as Bai Yuchan, Liu Kezhuang, Wen Tianxiang, and Ding Richang, all of whom left poems praising Lotus Hill. In modern times, Zhou Enlai, Peng Pai, Xu Xiangqian, and Gu Dacun opened and established revolutionary armed bases here, leaving behind historical relics such as the headquarters of the Red Fourth Army.
