Introduction

In 1954, the Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum was built in the Ceramic Culture Exhibition Area on Fengshushan in the west of the city. The museum is surrounded by trees, with a clear stream flowing through it and fresh air, giving it a natural atmosphere. As the first large-scale ceramic art museum in China, it collects masterpieces from various historical periods from Neolithic pottery to Han and Tang dynasties. The ceramic decorations are diverse, including different styles such as yingqing, eggshell, blue and white, polychrome, famille rose, and glazed ceramics. The exquisite shapes are presented from various angles such as bowls, plates, cups, saucers, pots, bottles, jars, sculptures, and more. The production techniques are also ingenious, including throwing, imprinting, inlaying, slip casting, machine pressing, and more. In addition, the museum also collects foreign ceramics, gold and stone jade artifacts, calligraphy, and paintings. The highlights of the museum are the exquisite Jingdezhen ceramics from modern and contemporary times.
