Introduction

Located in Heye Town, Shuangfeng County, Fuhoutang was built in the fourth year of the Qing dynasty's Tongzhi era (1865) and is a well-preserved "rural marquis mansion". The architecture and gardens have a strong style and include a crescent pond, entrance archway, Bapentang main building, Gongji, Puji, Fangji three library buildings, lotus pond, Niaohelou on the back mountain, Qiting, Cunputing, etc., covering a total area of over 40,000 square meters and a building area of 10,000 square meters. The library building is the essence of Fuhoutang and once had a collection of over 300,000 volumes, making it one of the best-preserved private library buildings in the country. In 2006, the State Council announced Fuhoutang as one of the sixth batch of national key cultural relic protection units. Fuhoutang is one of the core scenic spots in the hometown of Zeng Guofan tourism area, which covers an area of about 100 square kilometers, including Zeng's ten halls, Zeng's ancestral tomb, Qiu Jin's former residence, Cai Chang's former residence Guangjia Hall, and more.
