Introduction

It is said that the Wang Family Compound was the first residence built on the Great Wall of China and flourished in the late Qing Dynasty. At that time, the Wang family held a prominent position in Shanhaiguan, known as the "southern half of the city," and was famous for it. The compound covers an area of 10 acres and has 18 exhibition halls with over 10,000 exhibits. These include various household items such as beds and furniture, pearls, jade, treasures, calligraphy, and painting supplies. It's a themed museum that displays folk items, showcases Ming and Qing Dynasty household goods, and researches local customs to promote traditional folk culture. Legend has it that a beauty named Chen Yuanyuan once stayed in the Wang Family Compound in Shanhaiguan, and the story remains to this day.
