Introduction

Xiwan Village is located near Qikou Ancient Town, only one kilometer away. The village is renowned for its unique residential buildings. This complete residential complex was gradually built by the Chen family over 300 years from the late Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China, covering an area of over 30,000 square meters. The village is backed by the mountains and faces the water, with a clear and distinct layout that resembles waves surging in the mountains. There are two horizontal and seven vertical lanes that organically connect the various courtyards. About 40 courtyards are currently preserved, each connected to the next. The buildings and walls are of various shapes and styles, all in harmony with the surroundings. The village also has facilities such as anti-theft, fire prevention, drainage, and flood control. Every brick and wood exudes a traditional cultural atmosphere, and many carvings are extremely exquisite and delicate. In 2003, Xiwan Village was named a "National Historic and Cultural Village".
