Introduction

Zhizhu Forest is located at the foot of Meitanling in the southeast of Putuoshan, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. The rocks here are purple and exhibit patterns resembling cypress and bamboo leaves, hence the name "purple bamboo stone". People have also planted purple bamboo here. In the second year of the Zhenming period of the Later Liang Dynasty, Japanese monk Hui'e was obstructed by winds while transporting a Guanyin statue from Wutai Mountain, so he built the "Refusal to Leave Guanyin Temple" in Zhizhu Forest. In front of the Guanyin Temple, there is also a Chao Yin Cave. Next to Zhizhu Forest is Guangming Pool, where you can see Guanyin to the south and Luojia Mountain Island on the other side.
