Must-visit art museums in Shanghai

With the increasing attention and importance of art in urban construction, there are more unique art galleries. In the past five years, the number of art galleries in Shanghai has increased from 34 to 78, and the quantity and hardware conditions are now comparable to international cultural metropolises such as New York, London, and Tokyo. As Chen Danqing once said, when people go to art galleries, they will look better because they calm down and their vision becomes purer, which is a kind of beauty.

This museum is located on the first floor of the Shanghai Maglev Train Station on Longyang Road. It is not large in size and mainly introduces the development history and scientific principles of maglev trains, as well as the first commercial operating Shanghai Maglev Line in the world. It is a good place to increase scientific knowledge. Currently, admission is free and you can arrange to visit for about half an hour to an hour while taking the Shanghai Maglev train.
Location in Hongkou District, can take the subway to Tilanqiao Station Exit 2, about 5 minutes walk, opposite to the famous White Horse Cafe. The museum, after renovation, has a Western classical charm with a three-story red brick exterior. It is the former site of the Front Bund Moses Hall. Opening hours are from 9 am to 5 pm, and the ticket price is 20 RMB.
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, lifelike wax figures. The most stunning one is the wax figure of Teacher Yang Liping, incredibly glamorous! The 4D movie at the end is very interesting. When it snows or winds in the movie, the theater also turns on the air conditioner, making it truly immersive!
The room is a Shanghai dialect term for "home". Here, the new renovation not only preserves the original architecture, but also adds interior furniture, decor, and residential space planning, including the kitchen, to present the lifestyle of Shanghai residents in the past. It is also one of the few remaining and relatively intact Shikumen architecture in Shanghai.

Long Museum

Long Art Museum collects entrance fees as a private museum, but admission is free on the first Tuesday of every month. The museum is located some distance from the subway station, but you can feel the pulse of Shanghai's Pudong New Area construction. The exhibition space here is large! It is divided into multiple exhibition areas, some of which showcase official-looking exhibits to fit the red theme. Art and cultural exhibitions in Shanghai are actually well done, and many exhibits require a large venue to showcase them properly.
There is a huge exhibition hall here, which can display giant sculptures. There are also other exhibitions such as paintings. The building itself is beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls facing the river. It's worth visiting for an afternoon.
