Introduction
Hongfu Temple is located on the Qianling Mountain in Guiyang, built in the 11th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Guiyang, known as the "first temple in Guizhou". Its name means "to promote the great vow of Buddha, to save people and the world, to bless all sentient beings, and to do good from beginning to end". Although not very large, the temple has a rigorous and majestic architecture, surrounded by green trees and ancient atmosphere. The temple preserves many ancient relics, such as the Jiuqu Path opened by Monk Chisong and the stone carvings, the ancient Buddha cave visited by Xu Xiake, and the towers of the elders from various dynasties. In addition, the temple also treasures many calligraphic and pictorial works written by famous people, including Zhao Puchu's "Hongfu Temple", "Nanwu Amitabha", Dong Biwu's "The First Mountain in Southern Guizhou", etc. There is also an ancient bronze bell in the clock tower of the temple, weighing more than 3,000 catties, cast in the fifth year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty, which was moved here from the Daxing Temple in the city in 1980. In addition, there are monuments of Monk Chisong and calligraphy steles written by Zhu De, Dong Biwu, and others. Hongfu Temple is famous for its efficacious blessings and has a thriving incense culture. Address 187 Zao Shan Road, Yunyan District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province (within Qianling Park)
