Introduction

Located on the west side of Huairou County, surrounded by mountains, Huairou Reservoir was built in 1958 with a capacity of 96.7 million cubic meters and a water surface of 10,000 acres. Around the reservoir are 3,200 acres of mixed forests of coniferous and broad-leaved trees, lush, and with pleasant scenery in all seasons. Especially in autumn, the forests around Huairou Reservoir are ablaze with red leaves, presenting a unique and splendid view.

Transportation
Bus: Take bus 916 or 916 Express (recommended) from Dongzhimen and get off at Huairou Mingzhu Square. From the station, walk north along Qingchun Road to Huairou Department Store intersection (with a McDonald's on the right). Cross the road and head southwest to Fucheng West Street, then walk west to Huairou Sports Center. Continue west, uphill for 300 meters to reach the destination. Self-driving: Take the Beijing-Chengde Expressway and exit at Huairou (14). Enter Jingmi Road and continue for 2 kilometers. At Huafeng Overpass, turn right onto Yingbin South Road and continue for 2 kilometers. Pass Yingbin Roundabout and turn left onto Fucheng Street. Continue straight for 1 kilometer (past McDonald's) until you reach Huairou No.1 Middle School. Park on the side and walk west for 300 meters to reach the destination.
