Introduction
Xiaoqi Scenic Area is located 45 kilometers northeast of Wuyuan County in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is divided into two parts: Upper Xiaoqi and Lower Xiaoqi. It is the hometown of Jiang Renjing, the salt governor of the Huai and Yang regions during the Qing Dynasty. Xiaoqi was built in 787 AD and is a highlight of Wuyuan's cultural and ecological tourism, even rated as a national agricultural ecological demonstration village.
The ancient village of Xiaoqi has a unique flavor. The ancient Ming and Qing dynasty houses are breathtaking, and the atmosphere of nostalgia is palpable. Strolling along the winding and peaceful streets and the bluestone-paved postal road, surrounded by the natural environment and ancient trees, one feels transported back to ancient times.
Xiaoqi Village is surrounded by mountains with water flowing through, and there are many Ming and Qing dynasty buildings, each with their own characteristics. The official residences are grand, such as "Jinshi Residence", "Daifu Residence", "Ronglu Residence" and so on. They have front and back courtyards, spacious halls, and exquisite brick carvings on their gate towers, showcasing the noble status of their owners. The ancient path and pavilions with green stone guardrails at the village entrance, as well as the beams and pillars displaying the "Jiang Clan Ancestral Hall" and the "High-Level Scholars (Jinshi) Success Report" of the villagers, make one feel the splendor and prosperity of the ancient village. In such an environment, Xiaoqi can be called a unique and charming ancient cultural and ecological village in China. Address Jiangwan Town, Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, China
