Qinglong Bay Ecological Tourism Area covers Qinglong Lake and surrounding towns and the provincial-level Banqiao Nature Reserve, with a total area of 280 square kilometers. It is actively applying for the national forest park designation and is a key focus of ecological construction and tourism development in Ningguo. The area combines mountain views, water views, and cultural landscapes, with abundant ecological resources and a forest coverage rate of 78%. It is praised by experts as having "first-class air and water quality." Qinglong Lake is an artificial lake formed by the large-scale water conservancy project of the Gangkou Bay Reservoir, with a reservoir capacity of 941 million cubic meters. The lake covers an area of 34 square kilometers and has 38 islands, with picturesque scenery. The Banqiao Nature Reserve currently preserves over 50,000 acres of contiguous natural Chinese sweet chestnut forests, which is the best-preserved and most intact original forest at the northeast edge of the North Asian subtropics. In addition, the unique scenery of Shizhushan and Gaofengshan, as well as the recently discovered Banqiao ancient karst cave group, all have significant development value. The Qinglong Bay Ecological Tourism Area has completed the overall planning and detailed planning of some scenic areas. The construction of tourism infrastructure projects has begun, with huge development potential, suitable for developing sightseeing tourism, water sports, leisure vacations, film and television bases, and ecological tourism agriculture projects.
