Introduction

The Zha Zi Cave, formerly a small coal mine, was located in the outskirts of Chongqing. After 1920, it was transformed by the Kuomintang's Military Statistics Bureau into a detention center used for incarcerating and persecuting revolutionaries. The cave was well-hidden, surrounded by mountains on three sides and a ditch on the other, making it a very secure location. The famous "Jiang Jie" was imprisoned and subjected to brutal persecution here. Today, the Zha Zi Cave has been restored and recreated to showcase the original scenes, with a somber atmosphere and chilling display of torture instruments. Although not large in size, visitors can also visit the Martyrs' Cemetery and Bai Mansion, with dedicated shuttle buses providing convenient transportation.
