Mitad del Mundo, Experience the Equator's Unique Charm
Autopista Manuel Cordova Galarza, San Antonio de Pichincha, Quito

Introduction
If you come to Ecuador, you must go to the Mitad del Mundo (Middle of the World) monument. This iconic landmark of the city built on the equator is like the Great Wall in Beijing and cannot be missed.
The main building of the park is a monument, surrounded by statues of scientists who made significant contributions to measuring the equator. The monument reaches up to 30 meters high, like a directional sign that is carved on all four sides with the letters E, O, S, N representing East, West, South, and North in Spanish. The park also has museums, and visitors with a ticket can visit the witchcraft museum and the museum inside the monument.
But the most attractive part is the yellow line marking the equator. It marks the boundary between the northern and southern hemispheres, and tourists love to take photos there. Many travelers stand on both sides of the yellow line to feel the difference of being in the northern and southern hemispheres. In the park, you can also measure your weight to feel the effect of the equator (it is said that standing on the equator makes you lighter), or participate in the activity of standing eggs. In any case, the Mitad del Mundo monument is one of the iconic landmarks of Quito and will not disappoint you. Address Autopista Manuel Cordova Galarza, San Antonio de Pichincha, Quito
