Introduction

Do you remember the stunning Paradise Falls in the movie "Up"? It was inspired by the real-life Salto Angel waterfall in Venezuela. "Angel" actually refers to the name of American explorer James Crawford Angel. In 1937, he unfortunately crashed while exploring the aerial waterfall. In honor of his achievements, the Venezuelan government officially renamed the waterfall Salto Angel. It is one of the highest waterfalls in the world, located on the Auyan-tepui plateau with a drop of 979 meters.
