Introduction

Located in the southwest of Hiroshima prefecture, a island in the west of Hiroshima Bay, also known as "Itsukushima", is one of the famous Three Views of Japan. The island is about 10 kilometers long from north to south and 3.5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 30 square kilometers, known for its highest peak, Mt. Misen, which rises 530 meters above sea level. The climate is warm, with dense forests and a variety of rare and precious species. The Itsukushima Shrine here was built in 593 AD and has been well preserved through numerous repairs. In the sea 200 meters in front of the shrine, there is also a 16-meter-high red torii gate that can be reached on foot during ebb tide. The Pagoda of Many Treasures was built in 1523 and is a traditional Japanese-style building. The interior style was inspired by the Tang Dynasty architecture of China and is regarded as a national treasure and important cultural property of Japan. Because of its unique characteristics in all four seasons, it is a popular tourist destination for many visitors.
