Introduction

Punaluu black sand beach is located on the southeast coast of Ka'u, Hawaii, and is one of the most beautiful black sand beaches in Hawaii. It is close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the town of Naalehu, and there are many coconut trees scattered along the beach. Occasionally, large Hawaiian green sea turtles can be seen sunbathing on the beach. Although swimming is not recommended here, there are picnic areas and restrooms, making it a good place to enjoy the unique feel of black sand.
