Introduction
This castle, built in 1577, is Havana's first and largest fortress and is hailed as the second largest castle in the Americas. The castle retains a complete set of fortifications and features a pottery museum inside. On the northwest watchtower of the castle, there is a human-shaped weather vane named "Havana Wind Indicator" in memory of a female governor in the area's history.
