Introduction

One of the most unique buildings in Cuba is the Capitol Building, located in the old town area of Havana and serves as a landmark for the entire city. Built in 1929, it was once home to the Senate and House of Representatives of the Cuban Republic. Today, the Capitol Building is the site of the Cuban Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. The statue of the goddess inside the building represents the republic and is the third-largest indoor sculpture in the world. The Capitol Building is also one of the world's famous six parliamentary palaces.
