Plaza Vieja, A timeless charm with a blend of cultures

Introduction
Located in the 16th century Havana Old Square, the former open-air market is now part of the Havana Old Town residential area. The government has recently begun to repair buildings around the square, but the brightly painted buildings do not match the square's long history. In the northeast corner of the Old Square, there is a viewing platform called Camara Oscura, built in 2001. Initially designed by Lluis Domenech i Montaner and donated by Spanish congressman Cadiz, it reflects the light through a 180-meter diameter mirror to show the scenery within a radius of 5 kilometers, which is pleasing to the eye. Currently, there are 54 such camera obscuras worldwide, located in countries such as Spain, the UK, and the United States. Tickets are priced at 2CUC.
