Introduction

Nuuanu Pali Lookout is located in the northeastern part of downtown Honolulu, just 5 miles from the city center. It boasts steep cliffs and lush scenery towards the windward coast, making it one of the best spots to view the natural beauty of Oahu. After passing through the verdant forest on the Pali Highway, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find yourself away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and surrounded by the tranquil beauty of Hawaii's natural landscapes. From the stone platform above the coastline, you can overlook the Kaneohe and Kailua areas, and enjoy views of landmarks such as the Coconut Island, the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and the Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden. Nuuanu Pali Lookout is also a historically significant site, where the Battle of Nuuanu took place and King Kamehameha I unified Oahu. In addition, it is known for its fierce winds that howl through the mountains and blend with the lush scenery of Oahu's windward coast, creating a breathtaking spectacle that is one of the best viewing points on the island. Furthermore, it was also the entry point for the Japanese during the World War II attack on Pearl Harbor, giving rise to the unique landscape caused by strong winds.
