Introduction

Pearl Harbor is a natural harbor located on the coast of Oahu, Hawaii, about 10 kilometers west of the capital city of Honolulu. The harbor consists of three bays that extend like the toes of a bird into the land, with only a narrow opening connecting it to the ocean. It covers an area of 89 square kilometers, with depths between 10-20 meters and a navigable area of 26 square kilometers. Pearl Harbor has excellent sheltering conditions and ample room for maneuvering, earning its reputation as a world-famous natural harbor.
