Introduction

Puning Temple is located in Shuangqiao District, Chengde City, Hebei Province. It is a Han-Tibetan combined temple built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The front half is in the Han style, with the characteristics of traditional Han Buddhist temples, while the back half is in the Tibetan style of Sangye Temple in Tibet, perfectly merging two completely different architectural styles. The entire temple covers an area of about 23,000 square meters, magnificent and spectacular. The main Buddha statue in the temple is a 27.21-meter-tall gilded wooden carving of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva with a thousand hands and eyes.
