Introduction

Putuo Zongcheng Temple is located in the north of Chengde's Imperial Summer Resort, and its main building imitates the Potala Palace in Tibet, hence it is called the Small Potala Palace. The temple was built in the 36th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1771), known as the Potala Palace in Tibetan, it is built on the mountain with its height increasing layer by layer, very spectacular. It is the largest temple among the "Eight Outer Temples".
