Santa Claus Village

The Sampo is a unique passenger icebreaker in the world, launched in 1960, with a light displacement of only 3540 tons. This tonnage is rare among modern icebreakers, but its unique ability is truly astonishing, capable of easily breaking through ice up to 8 meters thick. From December to April each year, the ice in the northern part of the Gulf of Bothnia reaches an impressive thickness of several feet, and tourists can board the icebreaker to experience this incredible spectacle.
