Helsinki combines modern civilization with classical art, and is a garden city where urban architecture merges seamlessly with natural landscapes. Follow the list to explore what it has to offer!

When it comes to Helsinki, the most notable impression for most people is Helsinki Cathedral, also known as the White Church. The cathedral, located in Senate Square, is Helsinki's most famous building and is a Lutheran church.

Senate Square

The Senate Square is the historical center of Finland and the center of Finnish Neoclassicism. It was completed between 1818 and 1852 and designed by C.L. Engel. It includes the Helsinki Cathedral, the Senate, the City Hall, the University of Helsinki and its library, all of which are representative works of Neoclassicism. The oldest rock building in Helsinki is also located here.

The Parliament House of Finland

The Finnish Parliament building is located on Mannerheimintie, built in 1926 and completed in 1936. The Parliament building is very dignified and solemn, with red granite walls and fourteen gray granite columns standing outside. There is a lawn in front of the Parliament building, where many people lie down and enjoy the sun in summer.
This is a representative neighborhood of new art architecture. If you like this architectural style, you can take a stroll there to appreciate it.

Usbekistan Dzhuma Mosque

Uspenski Cathedral is another famous church in Helsinki besides the White Church. It is the largest Eastern Orthodox church on the Scandinavian Peninsula, completed in 1868 and underwent renovations on its centennial anniversary.
