Zahra's Grill Essaouira Restaurant
The downstairs restaurant serves Moroccan cuisine, while the rooftop restaurant offers seafood. The food here is unique and almost all worth trying!
Rick's Café
Although it is a small café, it is not an exaggeration to consider it a famous attraction. This café is completely designed and decorated according to the scenes from the movie 'Casablanca'. The TV inside continuously plays 'Casablanca', and in the café, you can experience French romance and a bourgeois atmosphere. If you are also a loyal fan of this movie, you must not miss this place!
A must-visit, highly recommended! Affordable and delicious! The seafood pasta and pizza are both very good. The shop is small, but there are many diners, so you need to queue.
Port XIV Restaurant
The most upscale restaurant in the area. The service is very Westernized, and the waitstaff are very professional; the oysters are extremely fresh, and the grilled fish main course is also very delicious. Overall, the quality is very high, but of course, the prices are not cheap.
Café Clock
The restaurant is large and decorated in a Moroccan style, offering rooftop dining seats. In addition to common North African traditional dishes, there are also novel camel meat burgers. The prices are a bit higher than average restaurants but very reasonable.
This is a restaurant in Fez that mainly serves Moroccan cuisine. The dishes sold in the store are plentiful and affordable. The chicken couscous is recommended, with a soft and flavorful texture. The sweet raisins make the overall taste richer.
Bab Ssour
I have mixed feelings about this place. I saw online that it was very popular, so I arrived early at 7 PM when it opened and was the first customer on the rooftop. The waiter warned us that the tagine would take a long time to prepare. Who would have thought that as the first customers, we would end up waiting nearly two hours? I was starving and the wait was excruciating! Fortunately, the food was of high quality, especially my beef tagine. The beef was tender and fell off the bone, and the potatoes had absorbed all the beef juices perfectly.
Port de Pêche
A great place to eat seafood, located near the fishing port. The seafood and fish are very fresh. The cuisine is mainly French-style, but with a touch of local flavor. This place is very popular, so it is recommended to make a reservation before coming.
The burgers here are fantastic and unique. Highly recommend the one with mushrooms. Remember to go early, as it's really hard to get a seat during meal times.
Café chez ZaZa
This restaurant is located near Djemaa el-Fna Square. You can sit on the semi-open rooftop terrace and enjoy the breeze, which is very pleasant. We ordered the kebabs (70DH) and meat pie (65DH), both of which were good. The only downside is that the portions were a bit small, so we deducted one star.
Nr.32 Hassan
This is one of the many stalls in the Jemaa el-Fnaa night market. Unlike other stalls, Hassan's gets lively even before it gets completely dark. They have a menu with reasonable prices, and the skewers we ordered were quite tasty and flavorful. Although it wasn't the best meal we had in Morocco, I still want to recommend this place because I read too many stories of tourists encountering unsanitary or scammy stalls while doing my research. Personally, I feel this one is quite reliable.
This restaurant was not originally on my food guide, but it turned out to be the biggest surprise of my trip to Morocco! The lamb tagine is authentic and delicious, with the lamb and vegetables stewed to perfection, incredibly flavorful and tender. Here's the best part: this meal (tagine, lamb chops, and cola) only costs 70DH. 70DH for an authentic tagine that you won't regret!
Vague Bleu
This small shop is very inconspicuous, and there is only one menu in the store, which is a small blackboard outside the door. If I remember correctly, there is one type of fish, one type of meat, and several types of pasta. The taste is even better than what you can find in Europe, and it can even compare to what you get in Italy. Before the meal, they also serve small dishes and freshly squeezed mixed fruit juice. If you order pasta, the owner will ask if you want fromage (cheese).
The tagine here is very authentic, the price is reasonable (75DH per serving), the service is great, and the location is excellent.
