Unlocking popular attractions in Tianshui, Gansu

Tianshui is known as "Little Jiangnan on the Loess Plateau". In ancient times, it was called Qinzhou and was a small city on the banks of the Wei River. Throughout history, Qinzhou has been an important town for westward migration to Chang'an. It is known as the birthplace of the Emperor Xuanyuan and the early culture of the Qin dynasty, with a civilization history of more than 8,000 years and a cultural metropolis for more than 2,700 years.

Wushan Hot Springs

Wushan Hot Springs is one of the Eight Scenic Spots in Guningyuan, with a long history. It is one of the most desired mineral springs in the country. It has facilities such as Lanzhou Railway Sanatorium, Gansu Provincial Health Department-affiliated sanatorium, village-built sanatorium, farmhouse leisure activities, etc., integrating rehabilitation, leisure, and entertainment, providing thoughtful services and comprehensive functions. The hot springs are located between Tianshui Station and Lanzhou Station of the Longhai Railway, only 15 kilometers away from Luomen Station. There are special tourist cars commuting between Luomen and Wushan to transport visitors and patients. The sanatorium is surrounded by mountains on the southeast, south, and west sides, tranquil and elegant, with clean air and no noise pollution. It has a small temperature difference throughout the year. In spring, summer, and autumn, it is filled with birdsong and fragrance, making it the best time for rehabilitation and recovery.
Wushan Shuilian Cave, located in Wushan County, west of Tianshui City, is a scenic area mainly known for its grotto murals, temples, and natural landscapes. Since the later period of the Sixteen Kingdoms, the construction of the Shuilian Cave grottoes began, and it became a famous grotto site in Tianshui, second only to the Maijishan Grottoes, during the Northern Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, and Yuan dynasties.

Gangu Daxiang Mountain

One of the eight scenic spots in Gangu, it is an important cultural heritage of grottoes and ancient architecture on the ancient Silk Road.
During the Later Qin period, the Maijishan Grottoes got their name due to their resemblance to stacks of wheat in a farmer's field. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, with densely packed mountains, lush pine and cypress trees, and abundant wildflowers and grass. The area is filled with green trees, thousands of mountains and valleys, layer upon layer, with dense green pines resembling the sea. The scenery is shrouded in mist and clouds, creating a picturesque view that is renowned as the top of TianShui's Eight Scenic Spots, known as "Maiji Mist and Rain".
