Explore off-the-beaten-path attractions around Xi'an

If you want to come to Xi'an for in-depth travel or prefer off-the-beaten-path and leisure tourism, then this guide can help you.

Yuanjia Village

Entering Yuanjia Village in Liquan County, you will be greeted by the sight of a donkey pulling a mill to grind roasted flour, tender tofu pudding, and the sweet aroma of millet vinegar... all these scents rush to your nose, making you feel as if you've traveled back in time. When dining in Yuanjia Village, you can either visit various farmhouse restaurants with a group or sample snacks on the folk street. Several snacks are quite distinctive and must be tried: I think the two most characteristic streets in Yuanjia Village are the Hui Street and the Cultural Street. Most of the shops on Hui Street are inns from Hui Street in Xi'an, offering authentic flavors and superb craftsmanship. Dishes like the famous Lao Sun's Paomo, red and sour fried rice, and Shijia buns with thin skin and ample filling allow visitors to taste both traditional Guanzhong flavors and the favorite tastes of old Xi'an residents.

Mawei Folk Culture Village

Mawei Folk Culture Village is located in Lijiapo Village, Mawei Street Office, Xingping, Xianyang, Shaanxi. It is situated one kilometer east of the Yang Guifei Tomb Scenic Area and covers a total area of 1100 mu. The first phase of the project focuses on folk culture displays and folk dining; the second phase focuses on Tang post station culture and Tang Dynasty culture. Mawei Folk Culture Experience Park is a concentrated reflection of Mawei's historical, social, and cultural characteristics. The plan includes the preservation of 26 old cave dwellings and the collection of over 30,000 old farm tools and household items. The snacks here are still mainly traditional handmade crafts from Guanzhong, as well as local snacks such as Yunnan flower cakes and Beijing candied haws. Popular items include rolling pins made from mung bean sprouts and the cold noodles reminiscent of childhood flavors.

Bailucang

Bailucang Scenic Area is located on the famous Bailuyuan in the ancient city of Xi'an, situated in the suburbs of Xi'an, 5 kilometers from the East Third Ring Road. This place integrates the regional styles of northern Shaanxi, Guanzhong, and southern Shaanxi, combining various forms such as food, interaction, experience, and performances to create a comprehensive traditional folk culture experience. Here, I feel that it has little to do with the 'Bailuyuan' IP, mainly focusing on experiencing the local food and drink of Guanzhong. If you want to see the authentic scenes from the original work, you still need to visit the Bailuyuan Film and Television Base. There are also many cherry orchards around, and during the cherry season, you can pick fresh cherries on the way to the park.
Fucha Town, starting from the history of Fuzhuan Tea in Jingyang, as early as the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the main tea product of 'Shan Yin' and 'Gan Yin'. Along the Silk Road, it was sold to various provinces in the northwest and abroad, and was once known as the longevity tea on the road of life in the west. Here, citizens can not only appreciate China's long tea history, Shaanxi Guanzhong folk customs, and experience the charm of Fucha culture, but also buy Fucha here as a souvenir.
