Hongcun - The Village in the Painting
Hongcun, formerly known as Hong Village, is a unique ox-shaped ancient village in the ancient Yixian Peach Blossom Land. It rests against Leigang Mountain and faces Nanhu Lake, with beautiful scenery of mountains and waters. It is renowned as 'The Village in the Painting of China'.
Huangyao Ancient Town, located in the northeastern part of Zhaoping County, Hezhou, Guangxi, has been rated as one of the ten most beautiful ancient towns in China. Compared to more commercialized ancient towns like Lijiang and Fenghuang, Huangyao's scenery is more fresh and elegant.
Xijiang Town is located in Leishan County, Qiandongnan Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is one of the eight ancient towns in Guizhou Province. At night, the Xijiang Miao Village is illuminated by thousands of lights in the depths of the mountains. Looking from afar, it is truly moving.
Yangshuo
Yangshuo is located southeast of Guilin City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, under the jurisdiction of Guilin City. Situated on the west bank of the Li River, it is known as the 'paradise on earth for travelers.' Being in Yangshuo feels like wandering through a magnificent landscape painting.
Tongli
Tongli Town is located east of the ancient canal by the side of Taihu Lake. It is only a half-hour drive from Suzhou City, but the tranquil town is a world apart from the bustling city, known as the 'Oriental Little Venice'.
Xitang
Xitang is a small town located in Jiashan County, Zhejiang. With its white walls and black tiles, and misty rain corridors, it resembles a light-colored painting on rice paper. The corridors and alleys have also become a beautiful scenery within the ancient town.
Langzhong
Langzhong Ancient City is located in the Sichuan Basin and has a history of over 2300 years. It has always been an important military site in ancient Ba and Shu, with a long history and splendid culture. It is known as the 'Fairyland of Langyuan'.
Xidi, located at the southern foot of Huangshan, is known as the 'household in the Peach Blossom Land'. Xidi Village is a well-preserved Huizhou architectural complex and a pure and beautiful village at the foot of Huangshan.
Pingyao
Pingyao is a city that lives between history and modernity, and is one of the four well-preserved ancient cities in China. Coming here feels like returning to the glorious era of Shanxi merchants one or two hundred years ago. If you have time, visiting the Qiao Family Compound is also a good choice.
