Meixi Lake International New City
A new landmark in Changsha's west side~ It took nearly 4 years to build from 2012 to 2016. The work of female architect Zaha Hadid - Changsha Meixi Lake Cultural and Arts Center. Not far from the arts center, you can see three large white streamlined buildings. From an aerial view, three 'lotus flowers' quietly bloom by the Meixi Lake~ If you have enough time in Changsha, watching a play here and then visiting the nearby Li Zijian Art Museum are both great choices!
Located in the northern part of Changsha, the Binjiang Cultural Park is a newly planned and constructed area in recent years. The 'Three Halls and One Theater' we refer to are the Changsha Museum, Changsha Library, Changsha Planning Hall, and Changsha Music Hall. Situated in the Xinhe Delta of Changsha, it is bordered by the Xiang River to the west and the Liuyang River to the north, forming the northern section of Xiangjiang Avenue. The North Star Delta Station on Metro Line 1 provides direct access. The Changsha Library and Changsha Planning Hall do not charge admission fees. The Changsha Museum is free with an ID card or other valid documents (tickets can be collected on the first floor of the Scenic Tower). The Changsha Music Hall requires a performance before opening.
After several years of renovation, the Hunan Provincial Museum finally officially opened at 1 PM on November 29, 1977. The highlights are the two large exhibitions: 'Mawangdui Han Tomb Exhibition' and 'Hunan People - Three Xiang Historical and Cultural Exhibition'. Currently, there is also a special exhibition on the excavation of Egyptian mummies.
Martyrs Park
The largest park in Changsha is the Martyrs Cemetery, located on Dongfeng Road in Kaifu District. Established in 1958, it is part of the Martyrs Cemetery, surrounded by pine trees, giving it a solemn and magnificent appearance. The park has a large artificial lake called Nianjia Lake. To the east of Nianjia Lake is another lake called Yuejin Lake, and to the west are the Martyrs Memorial Tower and a sports field. As a child, my favorite place was the amusement park in the Martyrs Cemetery, along with boating and barbecuing at Nianjia Lake. Later, the barbecue area at Nianjia Lake was closed for maintenance, but the boating activities have continued to this day. In 2007, to facilitate the construction of the Nianjia Lake Tunnel, the water in Nianjia Lake was drained, exposing the lakebed before being refilled.
In Changsha, there is a place that is usually frequented by people who exercise, but during special events, it becomes extremely crowded and congested. That place is He Long Sports Center in Houjiatang! This period is also when the most tourists from other places visit! During concerts and competitions, He Long Sports Center and its surroundings are completely blocked, so if you plan to attend an event, make sure to leave early to avoid traffic jams. There are usually part-time vendors selling celebrity merchandise at the concert entrance, but please note that many items are not allowed inside the concert venue, such as light sticks, headbands, etc. Bottled mineral water purchased outside is also not allowed inside. Generally, security checks require you to open your bag for inspection. If the items are not confiscated, they are well-hidden. Additionally, when there is a concert, the nearby Ding Ding Mall extends its business hours. If you feel hungry after the performance, you can find food near Ding Ding Mall, or you can look for food in the surrounding area.
Liuyang River Wedding Park
Located at No. 300, Section 2, Liuyang River Avenue, Furong District, Changsha, the Liuyang River Wedding Culture Square is a popular wedding photography spot for Changsha residents. The surrounding area is equipped with dining, entertainment, and other facilities, making it a new entertainment venue in the eastern part of Changsha. You can take bus routes 143, 405, 131, or 707 to Hehua Road East Station; or take route 131 to Baisha Road Intersection, or take Changsha Metro Line 2 to Wanjiali Square Station and walk 1 kilometer east along Hehua Road. The wedding garden is free of charge, and you can take photos there to commemorate your visit if you have time.
Hunan Broadcasting System
Many people come to Changsha to visit Hunan TV, either for their favorite hosts or favorite celebrities.
