"Savoring Inner Mongolia on the Tip of the Tongue (Part 2)"

When it comes to Inner Mongolia, what comes to mind first? The vast grasslands, galloping horses, and simple folk customs have shaped this mysterious and beautiful land. Due to its close proximity to Mongolia, Inner Mongolia has inherited and been influenced by Mongolian cuisine and culture. Mongolian cuisine is known for its robustness, with main ingredients often consisting of lamb, milk, wild vegetables, and noodles. It values fullness and authenticity, emphasizing the true flavors of ingredients, setting it apart from others.

Can you imagine that there are buildings in this world that are constructed without bricks, tiles, sand, stones, cement, or steel? The Lotus Desert Resort in Xiangshawan is such a green building. From an aerial view, it looks like a blooming lotus flower, and it is a place centered around Buddhist culture where one can truly relax. Every morning, the staff here chant scriptures. Dining in this transparent glass restaurant in the middle of the desert, I truly feel that my life is complete. The world is so vast, and I am just a tiny grain of sand. Yet, I can enjoy the buffet with delicacies from all over the world without being disturbed by the wind and sand, and I am content and happy.

Xilamuren Grassland/Nomad's Home

In winter, the grass on the grassland has turned yellow, and the strong wind makes it even colder. The nomads on the vast grassland are herding sheep. Although there is no heating in the yurts here like in Hasi Lake, the warm hospitality of the nomad family makes it warm. It is said that Mongolians are good at singing and dancing. During the meal, the old mother hummed softly, like the vast sound of the grassland, melodious and touching. Their Mandarin is not very good, but we can see their simple and sincere hearts.

Gerile Ama Milk Tea House

Gerile Ama's seven-step milk tea was featured on CCTV's 'Daily Diet' program, but what truly attracted me was its seven-step process. Brewing: Tea is brewed every day before the sun rises. Boiling: Boiling the tea; Boiling the tea: Boiling the tea 81 times; Clarifying: Clarifying the boiled tea; Frying: Frying millet with butter until golden; Mixing: Mixing tea leaves with fried millet flour; Boiling: Boiling the milk tea and then adding butter.

Mengheng Amutuse

Mengheng's reputation speaks for itself. The fact that families line up early in the morning to get food is enough to prove its strength. Breakfast was more than we imagined, deeply loved by meat lovers. A plant called 'shacong' grows in the desert grasslands of Ulanqab City. In fact, 'shacong' is wild onion; it has the shape of an onion, the spiciness of an onion, and a unique aroma that domestic onions do not have. Any guest who visits the Ulanqab grasslands and tastes the Mongolian dumplings filled with 'shacong' and mutton will praise its deliciousness.

Zhuozishan Smoked Chicken

Zhuozishan Smoked Chicken is a traditional famous dish from Zhuozi County, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has been made and processed for nearly a century and is one of the four famous chickens in China. It is known for its large size, red color, fresh taste, and tender meat, and is renowned in the provinces of North China and beyond the Great Wall.
