The building is located next to the west gate of Xiamen University and is the first comprehensive building since the establishment of the university. The Minnan-style arch-shaped roof showcases a combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles. The long and narrow marble column arcade in front of the building is matched with the tall red gate inside the building, creating a walking space that is particularly suitable for photography.

Lotus Lake

In the core area of Xiamen University, Furong Lake and Song'en Building are undoubtedly the favorite scenic spots for tourists. The vast lake surface echoes the Song'en Building behind it. Taking a photo with the tallest building on campus in front of Furong Lake has become a must for sightseeing tourists at Xiamen University. To capture a panoramic view of Song'en Building, one needs to stand by the lake, as Furong Lake is not very large and it only takes 10 minutes to walk around it.
