Da Tong Guo Shuan Yang Rou
A very traditional copper pot hotpot restaurant, often crowded with people. The waitstaff are quite efficient, but the serving speed is a bit slow. The portion sizes are generous. The hand-cut lamb cooked in the large copper pot is extremely tender and smooth, with a perfect balance of fat and lean meat that is chewy. The main dishes taste great and are good value for money.
Yuyang Copper Pot
Not famous but very popular! It gets packed during meal times! Recommended to try the three ways of eating fish: the black fish for sashimi is fresh and delicious, the boiled fish is tender, and the fish steak is meaty.
Dong Lai Shun Restaurant
People come here mainly for the lamb. It's a standard halal restaurant that uses traditional cloisonné copper pots. The broth is clear water, which is the essence of this dish. The lamb skewers are tender and tasty, and they don't fall apart even after long cooking.
Enlai Shun Heping Branch
As a Tianjin native, I have a special fondness for Enlai Shun. It gets extremely crowded during meal times in winter. The service and environment are quite average, but the mutton at this Hui restaurant is truly impeccable.
Sanxing Shuan Yang Rou General Store
This is a time-honored Tianjin copper pot lamb hotpot restaurant. It is a very affordable hotpot place. The environment is generally quite noisy, but it is always very crowded.
