Xi'an Hui Min Street is a famous food culture town in Xi'an and a snack street district. The street is located in the northern courtyard, which was the site of the Qing Dynasty government office. It got its name because it was located north of the Drum Tower, where the Shaanxi Provincial Governor's Office was situated. In the late 1990s, some Hui people rented houses on this street to run restaurants, and Lianhu District subsequently transformed it into a food street. The northern courtyard gate thus became known as Hui Min Street.
