Several characteristic attractions in Luoyang, Henan, should not be missed

"The Divine Detective" is set in Luoyang, the "Divine Capital," one of the four ancient capitals of China. It has witnessed the Xia, Shang, Zhou, Han, Sui, and Tang dynasties. The Longmen Grottoes and Luoyang peonies are renowned worldwide. April is the time for the Luoyang Peony Cultural Festival, and since my parents love flowers, I plan to take them to Luoyang to enjoy the flowers and explore during the Qingming holiday. The trip to Luoyang can be summarized as visiting the Longmen Grottoes, appreciating the Luoyang peonies, and exploring the Bai Ma Ancient Temple.

The Longmen Grottoes, along with the Mogao Caves, Yungang Grottoes, and Maijishan Grottoes, are collectively known as the Four Great Grottoes of China. The temple is located on Longmen Mountain and Xiang Mountain on both sides of the Yi River in Luoyang. It was carved around the time Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty moved the capital to Luoyang. Subsequent large-scale construction continued for over 400 years through the Eastern and Western Wei, Northern Qi, Northern Zhou, Sui, Tang, and Song dynasties.
White Horse Temple is located in White Horse Temple Town, east of the old city of Luoyang. Built in the Eastern Han Dynasty (68 AD), it is the first ancient temple in China and a world-renowned Buddhist monastery. It is the first state-run temple built after Buddhism was introduced to China, known as the 'ancestral court' and 'source of Buddhism'. It has a history of over 1900 years, and the existing cultural relics and historical sites are from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.

Lijing Gate & Old Street

Returning to the city from Baima Temple, take a stroll in the evening around the Lijing Gate area of Luoyang Old Street. Lijing Gate is a tower that recreates the ancient appearance of Luoyang and is rated as one of the eight scenic spots of Luoyang. It is said, 'If you haven't been to Lijing Gate, you haven't truly visited Luoyang.'

China National Flower Garden

As the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties, Luoyang is known as the 'Millennium Imperial Capital, Peony Flower City.' Luoyang's peonies come in a wide variety, with a large scale and vibrant colors, totaling over 1,000 varieties. When the flowers bloom, the city of Luoyang is flooded with people eager to admire the beautiful peonies.

Ancient Tomb Museum

In ancient Luoyang, there was a saying 'There is little idle land on Beishan, it is all old tombs of Luoyang people.' The Beiyang Mountain in Luoyang and its surrounding areas are dotted with ancient tombs from various dynasties. Based on this, a specialized museum was established - the Luoyang Ancient Tomb Museum. Its vast area, unique style, long history of collections, variety, and quantity make it a spectacular sight in China. The Luoyang Ancient Tomb Museum is one of the largest ancient tomb museums in China and the first of its kind in the world.
