At the pier, you can take a traditional wooden boat into the lake. During the trip, you can visit and check in at the filming location of Hunan TV's 'Dear Inn' located at the back of Princess Island. The round trip by boat takes about 1 hour. If you disembark around dusk, you might want to head to the nearby Goddess Bay to wait for the sunset. Here, you can see the most beautiful side of Lugu Lake under the setting sun.
Nvshen Bay
Nvshen Bay (also known as Zhao Jia Bay) faces the Gemu Goddess Mountain and is a quiet harbor in Lugu Lake. It is one of the most beautiful bays in Lugu Lake and is often referred to by tourists as the 'Hawaii of the East'.
Daluoshui Village
Daluoshui Village, also known as Daluoshui Village, belongs to Luoshui Administrative Village, Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It is located on the Lijiang side of Lugu Lake. The village has a strong Mosuo cultural atmosphere and is a popular stopover for many tourists visiting Lugu Lake.
Lige Peninsula is surrounded by water on three sides. From a bird's-eye view, the shape of the lake resembles a heart, hence it is also called 'Heart Island'. The viewing platform on Lige Peninsula offers the most beautiful lake view of Lugu Lake, where the water meets the sky, and green mountains stand beside, making it a refreshing and delightful experience.
Rock Island
Xi Wa E Island, originally named Shuizhai Island, is locally known as Snake Island and Rock Island. Rock Island is covered with dense vegetation. The largest tree on the island was planted by Dr. Rock in the early 1920s and is now a first-class protected plant in Lugu Lake. At the peak in the center of Rock Island, there is a 'Mani Heap'. The prayer flags around the Mani Heap have been faded by wind and rain, and it is the symbol of Rock Island.
Gemu Goddess Mountain
Gemu Goddess Mountain, also known as Lion Mountain, has an altitude of 3770 meters and is the highest peak around Lugu Lake. In the Mosuo language, it is called 'Gemu,' and in Tibetan, it is called 'Senge Gemu.' 'Senge' means lion, and 'Gemu' means white goddess. According to Mosuo legend, it is the incarnation of the Gemu Goddess. For tourism at Lugu Lake's Gemu Goddess Mountain, visitors can take a cable car from the entrance of the Gemu Goddess Mountain Scenic Area in Nise Village at the foot of the mountain to visit the Gemu Goddess Cave.
Muli Monastery was once the religious and political center of the Muli Kingdom in the early 20th century. It was also the largest Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) monastery in the Kham Tibetan area. The monastery was damaged in the 1960s and later rebuilt with state funds. The current Muli Monastery still retains the traditional Tibetan architectural style: gilded decorations, carved beams and painted rafters, towering golden roofs, and vibrant, dazzling colors.
