Hefei
Hefei is an ancient city with a history of over 2000 years, known as the 'Land of the Three Kingdoms and the Hometown of Bao Zheng.' It boasts numerous historical sites, such as Xiaoyaojin Park, Bao Zheng's Temple, Li Hongzhang's Former Residence, and the Ruins of King Wu. Hefei is also the birthplace of several historical figures, including Zhou Yu, Bao Zheng, and Li Hongzhang.
Jixi
Jixi County is one of the six counties of ancient Huizhou and one of the birthplaces of Huizhou culture. It is known as the 'Hometown of Huizhou Chefs' and has the reputation of 'No Huizhou, No Town; No Jixi, No Street.' Many intangible cultural heritages of Huizhou culture originate from Jixi, such as the 'Earth Ink' produced by Hu Kaiwen Ink Workshop. Huizhou cuisine, which evolved from Jixi's local dishes, is one of the eight major cuisines of China. The original ecological Huiju opera and Huizhou tunes, as well as folk customs with strong local cultural flavor like 'Sai Qiong Bowl' and swing platforms, are also prominent in Jixi.
Shexian County
Shexian County is the birthplace of Huizhou culture and the main origin of Huizhou merchants and Huizhou cuisine. It is the main production area of the Four Treasures of the Study, including Huizhou ink and She inkstone. It has been awarded the titles of 'Capital of Chinese Huizhou Ink', 'Hometown of Chinese She Inkstone', 'Hometown of Huiju Opera', and 'Hometown of Chinese Memorial Arches'. Famous attractions include the Ancient City of Huizhou, Huizhou Merchant's Mansion (Xiyuan), Tangyue Memorial Archway Group, and Xin'an River Landscape Gallery.
Huizhou
Huizhou District preserves more than 300 ancient Huizhou-style buildings. The three architectural wonders of ancient Huizhou (ancient ancestral halls, ancient archways, and ancient residences) are scattered throughout the region. Key national cultural heritage sites include the Qian Kou Residential Museum, the Zhenjing Luo Dongshu Ancestral Hall, the Chengkan Ming and Qing Ancient Villages, the Laowuge Pavilion, and the Lurao Pavilion. These are complemented by provincial and municipal heritage sites such as the Tangmo Tangan Garden, the Yansi Wenfeng Pagoda, the Fengshan Terrace, the former headquarters of the New Fourth Army, and the Shadi Pavilion. New tourist and leisure projects include the Huizhou Cultural Park, Shuyuan Leisure and Health Tourism, the Lingshan Artist Base, and sailing on Fengle Lake.
Tunxi
It features famous attractions such as Tunxi Old Street, Huashan, Xiaolongshan Ancient Temple, Jiling Mountain Pine Waves, Geshan Clear Spring, as well as Baidiao Pavilion, Xianren Cave, and Guanyang Bridge Tower. Tunxi is the center of Xin'an culture, nurturing the renowned Huizhou merchants, Huizhou cuisine, Huizhou opera, Huizhou architecture, Huizhou bonsai, Xin'an medicine, and Xin'an painting school. Key cultural relic protection units include the Dai Zhen Memorial Hall, Cheng Dawei's Former Residence and Memorial Hall, Cheng's Three Residences, and the Old Bridge. Tunxi Old Street is a national-level historical and cultural protection area.
Xiuning
Xiuning has produced 19 top scholars in the imperial examinations, making it the number one county for top scholars in China. Within its borders are attractions such as Mount Qiyun, the Chinese Top Scholars Museum, and the Baiji Scenic Area.
Nanping
Nanping Village is located in the southwest of Yi County, Anhui Province. It is an ancient village with a history of over a thousand years and a large scale. It is known as the Chinese Film and Television Village because many famous films such as 'Ju Dou' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' were shot here.
Xidi
Known as the connection point between ancient and modern Chinese history, the museum of ancient Ming and Qing residences, the home in the Peach Blossom Land, and the art treasure trove of ancient residential architecture. All the streets and alleys in Xidi Ancient Town are paved with Yixian bluestone. The ancient buildings are wooden structures with brick walls, featuring rich and colorful wood carvings, stone carvings, and brick carvings. The alleys, streams, and architectural layouts are well-coordinated. The spatial changes in the village are full of charm, and the architectural tones are simple and elegant, reflecting the outstanding talents and achievements in creating the living environment of ancient villages in southern Anhui. It has high historical, artistic, and scientific value.
Wuyuan
Wuyuan represents Huizhou culture and is known as the 'Hometown of Books' and 'Hometown of Tea'. It is a nationally renowned county for cultural and ecological tourism, praised as 'China's Most Beautiful Countryside'. In September 2017, it was awarded the title of 'China Natural Oxygen Bar'. Famous attractions within the region include Jiangling, Jiangwan, Likeng, Wolong Valley, Lingyan Cave, Rainbow Bridge, and Yantian Ancient Camphor Tree.
