Lushunkou is located at the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, bordered by the Yellow Sea to the east, the Bohai Sea to the west, and Dalian city to the north. This scenic area includes many attractions in the Lushunkou region, such as Baiyu Mountain, Lushun Naval Port, the former site of the Russo-Japanese Prison, and Laotieshan. It is a famous tourist destination in Dalian.
Lushun Naval Port
Lushun Naval Port is located at the southwestern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, at the southern foot of Baiyu Mountain. The terrain here is treacherous, making it a world-renowned military port. The port is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and many warships are usually docked in the harbor. Tourists can view the warships from the Naval Port Park or climb to the top of Baiyun Mountain for a panoramic view of the port, which offers excellent scenery.
Lushun Museum is located in the museum park of Lushunkou District, Dalian. The museum boasts a rich collection and a long history, making it one of the top museums in Dalian. Here, you can see not only Chinese ancient currencies, bronzes, ceramics, jades, and Buddhist art sculptures, but also artistic exhibits from other Asian countries such as ancient Indian stone carvings, Korean and Japanese paintings, and ceramics. The museum's collection of Xinjiang relics, especially the thousand-year-old mummies from Xinjiang, are particularly noteworthy and worth a visit.
Laotieshan
Laotieshan is located at the tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, facing the Shandong Peninsula across the sea. Climbing the century-old lighthouse on Laotieshan, one can overlook the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. The water of the Yellow Sea in the east is deep blue, while the water of the Bohai Sea in the west is slightly yellow, distinctly different.
Baiyu Mountain Scenic Area
Baiyu Mountain is located in the center of Lushun City, on the north shore of Lushun Port. It is the most famous attraction in Lushun. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can overlook the entire Lushun Port and see the natural sand spit 'Tiger Tail' extending from the opposite mountain. It is the best viewing spot in Lushun District. There are also two attractions on the top of the mountain: Baiyu Mountain Tower and the Naval Weaponry Museum.
Taiyanggou
Taiyanggou is filled with poetic and picturesque scenery everywhere. The roads are wide, and both sides are covered with flowers, grass, and trees. There are many plants that are said to be absent in the north, including many century-old dragon cypresses with very unique and beautiful shapes, which are rare in the country. Taiyanggou has many military management areas, a low population density, and few pedestrians on the roads during the day. Many of the buildings in the district are 'historic' European and Japanese-style structures, with unique, low, and scattered designs that have fallen into disrepair over the years, giving them an ancient and serene appearance under the cover of green trees. The famous attractions in Taiyanggou include the European-style Lushun Museum, the Snake Museum, and the former site of the Kwantung Army Headquarters built during the Japanese occupation. Taiyanggou is a place with history, stories, culture, and depth. Various European and Japanese-style buildings are gathered here, each with its own unique historical story.
