Dalian in summer, slightly warm but full of charm, this beautiful northern seaside city has long been accustomed to the tens of thousands of visitors from both the local area and other places every summer. When we went, it was already late September, and there were noticeably fewer tourists. Compared to July and August, it was quite peaceful. One can only imagine how crowded the beaches in Dalian would be during the summer break, bustling like a marketplace in the city.

Everyone has their own sea, their own beach, and their own blue sky.

Friendship Square

Friendship Square is a round enclosed island square located in the center of Dalian city. It was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the China-Soviet Union friendship. In the center of the square, there is a huge crystal ball weighing 117 tons and with a diameter of 15 meters, which is composed of 3,120 pieces of coated glass. Inside the ball, there are 7,852 colorful lights, which can change into red, yellow, and green lights at night, creating a fascinating and charming atmosphere, making it a popular spot for visitors to take photos and commemorate their visit.

Dalian Modern Museum

Dalian Modern Museum is located on the north side of Xinghai Square, Shahekou District, Dalian. It is a uniquely designed modern building, displaying a large number of historical and military artifacts, showcasing rich images and text introductions, presenting the changes and development of Dalian over the past century from various perspectives such as history, urban construction, and economy. The museum has four floors above ground and one floor underground. It provides scheduled free guided tours. Visitors can see artifacts such as the Beiyang Monument and the gate of the Naval Office of the Beiyang Fleet from the time of the First Sino-Japanese War and the Russian naval mines from the Russo-Japanese War, as well as learn about the contemporary urban development of Dalian.
