Fengjian Water Town in Foshan is considered a unique gem among Lingnan water towns. Even when compared to the famous water towns of Jiangnan, it holds its own, earning the nickname 'Guangdong's Zhouzhuang.' The water town is located at the northern end of Xingtan Town, with waterways winding around the village for over 10 kilometers and a total of 28 kilometers within its jurisdiction. Tourists can enjoy boat rides on the clear waters, experiencing a sense of endless twists and turns. The water town remains far from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering fresh and pleasant air, complementing the layout of ancient Lingnan villages. The ancient houses and trees on both sides are interspersed, with stone-paved streets crisscrossing, usually only frequented by a few villagers, evoking the poetic imagery of Tao Yuanming's verses: 'In the wild, human affairs are rare; in the secluded alley, few carts pass. During the day, the thorn gate is closed; the empty room is free from dust.' A highlight of the Lingnan water town is the Mingyuan Bridge, built during the Song Dynasty, which is well worth a visit.
