Splendid China Folk Village: A Day Tour Across China
Splendid China Folk Village itself consists of two parts: Splendid China and the China Folk Culture Village. Nowadays, the two parks have merged, and you can visit both with a single ticket. Similar to 'Window of the World,' the Splendid China park features miniature landscapes, but the difference is that it showcases the essence of China's natural scenery and cultural history. Here, you can see famous landmarks mentioned in textbooks, such as the Great Wall, the Terracotta Army, the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, and the Huangguoshu Waterfall, allowing you to tour the great landscapes of the motherland in one day. The China Folk Culture Village mainly displays the colorful costumes of ethnic minorities, the architectural styles of twenty-four villages, and various folk performances. Here, you can participate in many ethnically characteristic activities, including the Tea Horse Station, Wupeng Boat, Dulong Zip Line, and Qiang Climbing Area, truly experiencing the folk customs of 56 ethnic groups. Mangrove Nature Reserve: The 'Green Great Wall' in the City
The Mangrove Nature Reserve, stretching nearly ten kilometers along the coast, is located at the mouth of the Shenzhen River on the northern shore of Shenzhen Bay, covering a total area of 368 hectares. The mangroves, named for their light red trunks, are a marine woody plant community dominated by Rhizophoraceae species. This area is an important bird habitat, home to around 200 species including the Dalmatian Pelican, Black-faced Spoonbill, Oriental Stork, Saunders's Gull, and Greater Coucal. Every year, hundreds of thousands of migratory birds stop here, making it a crucial 'transit station' for them. Looking out from here, you see the sea, the mouth of the Pearl River, with calm and serene waters. On a good weather day, the blue sky, white clouds, and the sea, combined with the warm sunshine, can lift your spirits immensely. In Shenzhen, there is a street where you need to obtain a 'Special Permit for Hong Kong Frontier Closed Area' to enter. This is Chung Ying Street, located in Shatoujiao Town, Yantian District, Shenzhen. This small street, less than 500 meters long and less than 7 meters wide, is divided by a 'boundary stone' in the middle. Before Hong Kong's return to China, the east side of the street belonged to China, while the west side belonged to the UK, making it a 'one street, two systems' area.
