1 day 6 holy places, Chongqing's journey of checking in

Since I don't know when, Chongqing has transformed from a "mountain city" to a "misty city", "8D fantasy", "cyberpunk" and so on... Overnight, Chongqing has become a popular city. The popularity of short videos has attracted many people to come to Chongqing to check out the amazing experiences such as the light rail through buildings, Ciqikou Ancient Town, and the glass skywalk at Nanshan Bookstore.

Jiulongpo District

Jiulongpo District in Chongqing is full of artistic atmosphere. It not only has artistic check-in points but also the art-rich Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, along with ordinary and authentic local life.

Railway Village

The 'isolated' Railway Village feels like stepping into the home from childhood memories. Complex overhead wires crisscross the sky, moss-covered rooftops, flower-patterned quilts drying in the courtyard, and elderly folks chatting while fanning themselves at a small shop by the railway. The Jun Ge Book House by the railway is a place for people to drink tea and chat. This seemingly unremarkable bungalow can be considered a repository of Chongqing's old history and transportation. Continuing along the tracks towards the riverbank, you will find the 'Secret Garden'. At the riverside teahouse, order a pot of tea and sit quietly by the river, and for a moment, time seems to stand still.

Graffiti Street

This is the old campus of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute - Huangjueping Campus. The graffiti street at the entrance of the campus features works left by former students as well as free graffiti by visitors. The walls are covered with graffiti, allowing you to pose however you like. Every time I come here, I get lost in taking photos and end up spending a long time. It is also the filming location for the MV of 'Wu Bi Ye' - I Love Chongqing.

Zhongshuge Bookstore

Zhongshuge Bookstore, known as the 'most beautiful bookstore' and 'celebrity bookstore', features a folding layout reminiscent of Chongqing's mountainous cityscape. Chongqing's Zhongshuge Bookstore opened in January 2019 and quickly became popular, attracting many visitors to check in and take photos.
Zhongshan Fourth Road is hailed as 'the most beautiful street in Chongqing'. It starts from the Shangqing Temple roundabout and ends at the Zhou Enlai Memorial Statue Square, spanning approximately 1000 meters. This road is the political center of Chongqing (home to many municipal-level agencies such as the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection) and also bears many historical traces: Guiyuan, Zhou Mansion, and Zengjiayan. Guiyuan was the site of the Double Tenth Agreement between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and Zhou Mansion was the residence of Premier Zhou Enlai. Guiyuan and Zhou Mansion are worth a visit.

Nova Planet High-altitude Viewing Hotel

The hotel's decor is very sci-fi and stylish, with various starry sky simulations. Every room offers a view of Chongqing's cityscape. Even if you don't stay, you can take photos in the lobby. Occasionally, the hotel opens rooms for photo shoots. The building's elevator only has two floors: 1 and 47. This elevator has even become an internet sensation, gaining popularity on platforms like TikTok and Weibo, with major media outlets like People's Daily posting about it. The elevator is humorously referred to as the 'no middleman' elevator. This guesthouse is also a great choice when traveling to Chongqing, as every room is a viewing room overlooking the city. Room prices range from 500 to 1000 yuan. Typically, you need to book at least a week in advance, and during holidays, a month in advance. Booking in-store allows you to choose your room, while online reservations are randomly assigned by the hotel. Personally, I think this place is better than the Chongqing WFC Viewing Tower, as Nova offers much better value for money. WFC viewing price: 90 yuan per person.
