Should I buy a SIM card in China or at my destination ?

I bought it domestically, changed the card on the plane, and used it directly after getting off. I didn't have to look for a card to buy when I entered the country, and even the Oyster card was bought domestically. When I arrived at Heathrow, I directly swiped the subway with the card. The key is to save time.
